River Valley Fútbol Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We are committed to providing a safe setting for soccer, focused on the development of both character and sportsmanship to all of the River Valley.

The Club offers the following programs:

Recreational: Available for players U4-U14.

Academy: Available for players U9-U10

Competitive: Available for players U11-U14’

Showcase: Available for players in High School (U15-U19)

Recreational is focused on local play. This program does not travel and plays with teams from within the Club’s Rec program.

Competitive/Academy, also known as "Club Soccer" and "Travel Soccer". This is meant for the aspiring player who wants to take soccer to the next level including college and beyond.

Showcase is for Soccer players looking to be recruited by College Coaches. Showcase teams participate in college showcases, these are tournaments designed to give soccer players the chance to play in front of college recruiters.

Training

  • Competitive/Academy teams practice a minimum of 2-3 times per week for 1.5 – 2 hours each session. A strong emphasis is put on the technical ability and knowledge of the game for all players.
  • Recreational teams typically practice once a week with their Teams. Age Division training, otherwise known as “Pool Training,” is offered for Rec Divisions. Pool Trainings are led by our more experienced club coaches.

Coaches

  • Competitive/Academy coaches are certified and, in some cases, licensed. Competitive Coaches have coached or played at a high level of soccer. Coaches receive fees for their services, which vary depending on licensure and experience.
  • Recreational coaches are typically volunteer parents who play or have played soccer. This level of service grants the Volunteer Coaches’ child a waiver to play at no cost.

Commitment Level and Attendance

  • Competitive/Academy players agree to a much higher commitment level and are required to attend all scheduled training sessions, games and tournaments. Lack of attendance may reduce game playing time.
  • Recreational players are encouraged to attend any scheduled games, team practices and Pool trainings.

Contract

  • Competitive/Academy players’ parents sign a “Parent/Player Agreement” for the season agreeing to both expectations and financial commitments.
  • Recreational players’ parents agree to game expectations and financial commitments when signing up online.

  • All recreational games are played at our Ben Geren Soccer Complex in Fort Smith.   **U13 and above could play in Alma, Van Buren or Greenwood
