Job Title: Director of Coaching

Job Summary: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Coaching to lead our youth soccer program at River Valley Futbol Club. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in soccer coaching, player development, and administrative leadership. This position is pivotal in setting the strategic direction for our coaching staff, enhancing player skills, and fostering a culture of excellence and inclusivity within our club.

Key Responsibilities:

• Program Development:
  • Design, implement, and oversee a comprehensive coaching curriculum that aligns with the club’s philosophy and promotes player development across all age groups.
  • Ensure that all coaching activities are consistent with US Soccer's guidelines and best practices.
• Coaching Staff Management:
  • Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate coaches to ensure high-quality coaching at all levels.
  • Conduct regular coaching clinics, workshops, and mentoring sessions to elevate coaching standards.
• Player Development:
  • Oversee player evaluations to track progress and tailor training programs to individual and team needs.
  • Develop pathways for players, including identification of talent for higher-level competitions and academies.
• Administration:
  • Manage the club's coaching budget, ensuring resources are utilized effectively.
  • Coordinate with the club administration for scheduling matches, practices, and tournaments.
• Community Engagement:
  • Act as a liaison between the club, parents, schools, and the broader community to promote soccer within the area.
  • Organize community outreach programs and soccer clinics to grow the sport's popularity.
• Compliance and Safety:
  • Ensure all coaches are certified, background checked, and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant youth sports regulations, including SafeSport and concussion protocols.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or a related field preferred.
• Experience:
  • At least 5 years of experience in a coaching or leadership role within youth soccer.
  • Proven track record in developing both players and coaches.
• Certifications:
  • US Soccer National "C" License or equivalent or higher is preferred.
  • CPR, First Aid, and SafeSport certifications.
• Skills:
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and administrative abilities.
  • Proficiency in managing budgets and resources.

Additional Requirements:

• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as the soccer season demands.
• Must pass a background check.
